A message about worship during the coronavirus situation:
Updated 12th July 2020
Public worship in the church building will resume from Sunday 19th July, with a 9.30am Said Mass on Sundays and an 11am Said Mass on Wednesdays. All are welcome but please note that due to social distancing it will be necessary to book in advance to attend.
Please email the Parish Office: firstname.lastname@example.org by 11am on Wednesday for Sunday, or by 12 noon on Monday for Wednesday. For more information about how services will work during this time, please follow this link (Resuming public worship at St Laurence).
We are now able to hold baptisms, weddings and funerals again, with some restrictions. For more information please contact the Parish Office or the clergy.
The church building is open for private prayer on Sundays 2-4pm and Thursdays 10am-12noon. For more information, please see this video:
We are distributing resources for worship, for adults and children, via email and post. Please let us know if you would like to receive these.
Recordings of some services, together with reflections and recordings made by our choir, are available on YouTube:
Some of our fundraising organ concerts (covering the works of J.S. Bach) are also being posted to this page.
We have a Facebook page: 'The Parish Church of St Laurence, Upminster' where updates are also posted.
We are currently gathering on Zoom each Saturday at 10.45am for Morning Prayer and Coffee and for Evensong on Sundays at 6.30pm. If you would like to know more about this, please contact one of the clergy.
An audio tour of the church building is available here:
We are in the process of re-opening our halls and hirers are being contacted about this.
We hope that you and your loved ones stay safe and well. Please do get in touch with the Parish Office, Susannah or Fr. Roy if you would like to speak to us about something, if you would like support in some way, or if you have a need for prayer.
May God's peace, which passes all understanding, be with us all.
The Revd Susannah Brasier (Rector)
Like many organisations, St Laurence is suffering financially due to the pandemic and the loss of income from our halls. We would be very grateful for any donations towards the mission and ministry of the church. Our crowdfunding page is available here:
